IP has upgraded their main website which can now be seen on a widescreen. They’ve also added a fun and very addicting game called “Photo Face-Off”. The Photo Face-Off website shows photos added on officialpspp.com using a battle generator where two random photos are selected and you decide which photo is your favourite. There is a top 100 list and a bottom 100 list to show which photos are the viewers favorites while the bottom show the least favorite. Ready to battle it out? Give it try by following this link:

Friday Freebie - Harvest Flower Tube Set

    September 12th, 2008

Sample of flower tubes being used

Okay so enough with the tutorial talk already it’s Friday so let’s get to the goodies. I’ve had such an overwhelming response on my Harvest Flowers that I’m giving them to you! To everyone who sent in an email - this one is for you. These flowers were created by me from scratch at a high res so they are really big and can be used for many many projects small or large. I also created them without a drop shadow so you are able to rotate them anyway you like and of course add your own shadow once your satisfied with the placement. The above photo is a sample layout I created using the flowers as part of the embellishments to give you a good idea of how they will look in a project.

    Have a great weekend!

If you do use my tubes I would love to see how! Please do send in a sample photo of your projects or a digital layout you created using the flowers to admin [at] sajesticdesigns [dot] com.

    Paper Edge & Texture

    September 10th, 2008

I’ve always loved making backgrounds for my photos. In scrapbooking I could spend countless hours looking through all the papers that were available and over recent years backgrounds have become an artistic expression for completing a layout in Digital Scrapbooking. For this tutorial I show you the very basics for working with plain backgrounds and adding some depth and texture to them by using the texture presets in PSP and for an added bonus some examples for creating a popular look called the “Torn Edge”.

    Text On A Path

    September 4th, 2008

One of the most common questions asked is “How do I create text on a path?”. This particular technique is used in Digital Scrapbooking and can be seen throughout many layouts. You may see it in creative type titles, circle text frames or to follow the path of an edge or curve of a layout. In this tutorial we cover the basics of how to get your text onto a path. Tho it may be rated as intermediate to advanced it doesn’t hurt to give it a try if your new to using vectors. Practice makes perfect!

Jecynda Lynn - A Photographer in the making

    August 26th, 2008

If you ever had a doubt that learning the scopes of photography would be to overwhelming for a young teen or even a child then you better re-think those thoughts as children “nowadays” are teaching us! My kids teach me something new every single day it seems and when my daughter came to me with this look of accomplishment on her face I knew something was up. She had dived into PSPP Magazine and read the entire article on Macro Magic. Needless to say, she not only took it all in but she mastered it within a few hours. If you have a moment to spare head on over to Jecynda’s Gallery and get inspired by a young teen as she shows us the world through her eyes.

    Ribbon Set - PSP Resources

    August 23rd, 2008

Now this one made me think should it be a resource or should it be a digital scrap freebie? Well, the freebies are ready-to-use without the need to adjust the graphic at all. You just add it to your layouts and go show it off. A resource in my opinion is something you work with. You can adjust the color, warp it, take from it, add to it… etc. So, I decided to post this one as a resource.

The bow has been one of many many topics and one of the top asked questions in digital scrapbooking is - how do you make bows?! I decided to offer two ribbons I created in grey-scale. I’ve already taken you halfway there to creating your bow!
    ;)

From the sample image, on the bow resource page, you will see two ways that I’ve used them to create a bow and a folded ribbon. Do to this in PSP simply make a rectangle selection from the ribbon and then paste it on a layer of it’s own. Use the warp tool to then mold it into the shape you want.

    Digital Scrapbooking for Beginners

    August 21st, 2008

    What is Digital Scrapbooking?

If you have ever kept photos in an album and stuck stickers with a few written lines on it, then that is about as close to traditional scrapbooking as you can get. Scrapbooking has developed into a mainstream hobby for showing off photos in beautiful rich colors and breath-taking layouts. As computers have become more affordable and while digital cameras drop in price and their photo quality rises many of us have now become photographers as well. Graphic artists and creative hobbyists alike have combined both computer graphics and digital photographs to create what we now know as Digital Scrapbooking.
